Physical Education Demonstration School

In 1994, the Tennessee State Department of Education named Tulip Grove Elementary School a State Demonstration Center for Physical Education. This program is a joint effort of the Tennessee Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, and the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

Tulip Grove joins other Demonstration Schools across the State of Tennessee in promoting quality physical education and lifetime wellness for all students. The purpose of a Demonstration Center is to demonstrate a developmentally appropriate curriculum and to share program design and innovative ideas with physical education instructors, university students, and administrators across the state.

Tulip Grove Physical Education Demonstration School is now in its twelfth year. The program continues to serve as a resource center for physical educators and future physical educators to visit throughout the school year. We also welcome parents and other visitors any time!
